Advantages
Below are some of the advantages of using Fondo:
- Easy way to set new cool wallpapers
Without hassle, you can directly access cool wallpapers from Fondo and set your preferred image as your desktop background with a single click. - Ability to search images using the search box
You can fine-tune your images list by searching with a specific keyword on the app’s search box if you don’t like the default images list offerings. - Day mode and night mode theme
If you are a night shift worker, there’s a dark theme mode to better suit your work environment so the app doesn’t strain your eyes a lot. And vice versa for the day time workers too.
Disadvantages
- Too many portrait images
Despite the regular norm of most people owning a widescreen monitor these days, Fondo provides mostly portrait images. You have to scroll a lot if you want to find landscape specific image sizes. - Does not have consistent UI look with the default OS
This is the usual problem with some of the flatpak apps and Fondo is no exception here. They don’t have a consistent look with the native system, instead, their user interface looks somewhat out of place.
Conclusion
Fondo is a simple minimalistic desktop wallpaper app available on flathub. The app does the best with user experience by not cluttering too many options/features, instead, letting the users set their wallpapers with ease.
